As the 23rd President of the South Jersey Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., I offer you “Greetings and Welcome” to our official website! Following in the footsteps of our illustrious founders, 19 trailblazing women with a vision to serve southern New Jersey, chartered the South Jersey Alumnae Chapter. Chartered on June 29, 1969, we are now more than 180 strong and continue to serve in the Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem counties of Southern New Jersey. We are a member of the Dynamic and Historic Eastern Region of the Sorority and for more than five decades, we’ve committed to providing scholarships to deserving students, and supporting our community through the development and implementation of programs and projects that align with the Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust:
1. Economic Development
2. Educational Development
3. International Awareness and Involvement
4. Physical and Mental Health
5. Political Awareness and Involvement
Some of our signature programs and projects include:
The Authors and Artists Expo, The Black Expo, The Youth Summit, World Water Day Focus, Annual Community Health Fair, Financial Literacy Education, and multi-county Voter Registration and Education Drives. Some of our newer programs have focused on Black Women and Social Media, support of Intimate Partner Violence Awareness, Project L.O.V.E., Human Trafficking Awareness, and many more.
