The Physical and Mental Health (PMH) Committee is dedicated to uplifting and empowering African American women in the community through a comprehensive approach to internal wellness. Rooted in the belief that true wellness encompasses both the body and mind, our programs are designed to promote self-care through physical wellness, emotional resilience, and awareness/advocacy. The commitment to fostering a culture of self-care and holistic health we aim to address the unique challenges faced in our community by providing resources, support, and education that promote a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.

Our Focus Areas:

  • Physical Wellness

Our program encourages active lifestyles through fitness workshops, nutrition guidance, and wellness challenges. We emphasize the importance of movement and balanced nutrition as essential components of a healthy life.

  • Emotional Wellness

Recognizing the importance of mental health, we offer resources to help women manage stress, build emotional resilience, and foster a positive mindset. From mindfulness sessions to mental health advocacy, we provide the tools needed to nurture emotional well-being both in adults and children.

  • Awareness & Advocacy

The PMH Committee champions the importance of health equity and awareness. Through educational seminars, community outreach, and advocacy efforts, we strive to ensure that African American women and children have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.
